Yash, as the world calls him, completed his education from University of Delhi in 1995 and joined his family business after exploring a few options in Export industry. He successfully completed an executive course in Strategic IQ from the  Harvard Business School, Boston, USA in 2014.

Skyways Group, headquartered in New Delhi, was founded in 1983 by Yash’s father S.L. Sharma as an Air Freight Forwarder. The company expanded into other spheres of logistics over the next 4 decades and is now a leading player in Air freight, Ocean freight, Fairs & Exhibition logistics, Express, First & Last mile logistics, etc.

Yash has been a strong visionary and always tried to bring new innovations to the field of logistics. He, thus was able to make and launch the first web marketplace for air cargo in the world in the year 2000- www.cargoflash.com.

Yash has been a key driver to take his company from a 17 member team in 1995 to 1000+ personnel team spread across it’s 32 locations in India as well as it’s overseas offices in Germany, Vietnam, Bangladesh, UAE, Hong Kong, Thailand and Cambodia. The company has IATA, MTO, AEO, ISO 9001:2015 and numerous other important industry accreditations.

Skyways has been the No. 1 Air Freight Forwarder of India since 2017, as per world ACD. Skyways is also ranked No. 29 in the IATA global ranking for e-AWB showcasing the Group’s technological penetration in logistics industry. He is the immediate Past President of Air Cargo Forum India (ACFI). In addition, he has assumed the role of Chairman, Branding Air Cargo Task Pillar at the Air Cargo Forum India (ACFI).

ACFI is a leading nationwide platform for all stakeholders in the air cargo sector. Over the past several years, Yash has worked closely with the Government of India, the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), regulators, and trade bodies to elevate India’s air cargo ecosystem to world-class standards. His efforts have been dedicated to brand positioning Air cargo to various Government agencies and shipper forums to highlight the air cargo industry’s role to the broader economic growth of Global economies.

The stellar leader has been associated with various trade forums and industry associations in his career. He was the former President of Air Cargo Club of Delhi (ACCD). In the past, he was the President of his School ex-Student association for 5 years.

He is earnestly involved in philanthropic activities and has supported various social organizations like The Earth Saviours Foundation, Bhagat Foundation (in association with IAG Cargo), Chintan Environmental Research and Action Group etc. In his free time, he loves to socialize with people, listen to Bollywood music, play cricket and go dancing.
